The possible closure of the Partouche casino of Trinité-sur-Mer
With the economic crisis, the local French casinos and even the foreign casinos are facing hard financial times now. Some gambling facilities must put their room for sale; some others must close their doors. The Partouche casino at Trinité-sur-Mer is one of those which would be closed soon. In the context of a convention, all French casinos have to pay duty to the municipality. The casinos of Trinité-sur-mer have therefore to pay €240,000 to the city.

With such amount of duty, and without real positive success for years, the Partouche casino establishment threatens to close its doors. The Partouche Group and the other casinos of the city tried to negotiate the amount of the duty but in vain. During the Municipal Council on Wednesday, the members had voted against the modification of the convention at unanimity. This law may imperil the future of the casinos. On the other hand, the Partouche Group will try to limit the damage and to find effective solutions for saving some jobs. The local amateurs of casino games should therefore find another address to play casino games, if the closure of the casino of Trinité-sur-Mer would be for real.
