On Tuesday, the village council of Glenwood approved unanimously a resolution enabling this locality to be a site of a future casino games with bonus. According to Kerry Durkin, chief of this locality, a property developer has approached him on this matter, and the members of the council, after consultations and opinion exchanges, have accepted the proposition. This approval of Glenwood is logical. It’s an administrative measure which facilitates the negotiations between concerned parties and on the rebound, the project of establishment of a casino with its rooms of slot machines. However, nothing is acquired yet because Glenwood is in competition with at least eight other municipalities, provided that the General Assembly of Illinois would agree about the approval of a casino in the southern suburb of Chicago. For Tony Plott, a broker, the context is rather hard. The city, as well as neighboring localities, needs money.
